Cyril's main expertise is design, direction, animation with mixed media. He usually works with a camera and analogue design elements such as paper, drawings, projections, objects, installations and actors. Although he makes use of digital tools to create, his passion kicks in when a style or effects are created in the real world. Nowadays everything can be crated digitally. But the path with craftsmanship always adds the little something. That can be details like a beautiful reflection or it can also bring you by coincidence to a complete new idea. For him It's not just more fun to work like this. It make’s him proud each time to have accomplished something, knowing there’s no option for command Z.
He's got more than 10 years experience in advertising, moving image and broadcast opening sequences. He is doing concept development, live action directing, various animation techniques such as stop motion, pixiliation, cut out animation or 2D motion graphics. He's getting exited to play and experiment with different medias or story telling methods to find a unique way to tell the story.
Cyril graduated from Graphic Design School in Berne in 2008. Moved to London for 5 years and returned to Switzerland from where he works and lives with his family.
As director he had the opportunity to work for clients like McDonalds, Microsoft, Greenpeace and Migros (CH) to name a few. As a motion graphic designer he freelanced for top London agencies such as INTRO, TBWA, AMV BBDO, iTV and others. From 2018 till 2021 I was working as a designer / director at Swiss broadcaster SRF where he was createing designs, concepts and opening sequences for TV shows.
