An overhead projector, a robotic arm, and ink mixed with oil. The drawing system responded to the presence and movement of visitors in the room, translating proximity and group density into marks on glass.
Three components were at work: an overhead projector, a robotic arm, and ink mixed with oil. The projection held up. The material experiments produced unexpected textures. The interactive drawing system, designed to shift visibly with visitor presence, suffered from the ink mixtures, the texture was too dense to read as a response.
A first iteration. The tension between material unpredictability and readable machine response is exactly what the next version will address.
